Annapurna Region, Nepal
Trekking in the Annapurna Region starts at a low altitude, gently winding through tropical gorges, forests, waterfalls and numerous villages up to the incredible Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Ranges. This region is inhabited by the Magar and Gurung people, who are a mixture of Buddhists and Hindus. Trekking in the Annapurna region is more of a cultural experience with teahouses dotting the trail to welcome you with a hot lemon drink or chia, the local tea. However, the Annapurna region is no less spectacular and ultimately delivers amazing mountain views.
Sunrise over the famous fishtail mountain, Machhapuchare, will leave you breathless. Machhapuchare is the sacred mountain of the Queen of Nepal and has never been climbed. Your trek in the Annapurna region will show you this most picturesque of all peaks from many different angles.
