Druk Path Trek offers a relatively short journey that starts from Paro valley to Thimphu (or vice versa), crossing a chain of mountains that separates the two valleys. Although there are very few villages to see, there are beautiful lakes teeming with fish and breathtaking scenery at 4,000 meters (13,000 feet). May is the best time to go as the spectacular rhododendron forests are in bloom. In clear weather there are magnificent views of the high Himalayan peaks. Druk Path is a trek that can be booked at anytime of the year, with the best seasons between October to November and March to May. This is considered one of Bhutan's best short treks.
