Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek

Difficulty:

Strenuous trekking to altitudes of 3000 m/10000 ft - 4000 m/13000 ft for up to 7 hours a day, sometimes including excursions or pass crossings up to 5000 m/16500 ft. Some pre-trek training is advisable. Hill walking experience, a reasonably fit body and good stamina are essential for these kinds of treks.

This is one of the world's best treks, set amongst breath-taking high mountain sceneries. Tourists are rarely seen at the earlier stages of this trek, because most prefer to fly to Lukla. Though this is an easier option many miss out on witnessing villages that reflect true Nepali culture and way of life. Magnificent landscapes, imposing & prestigious peaks, tapering ridges & colorful villages contribute to turning this trek into an unforgettable experience. The itinerary leads through the high Khumbu Mountains before finally arriving at the foot of Everest. The Kala Pathar (5,554m) ascent is one of the highlights of this trek. From here, one can experience a spectacular panorama of Ama Dablam, Makalu, Nuptse, Lhotse & the majestic Everest.

Cost Excludes:

  • International air fare to/ from Nepal.
  • Lunch and dinner prior to the trek, please allow US$ 20 per day.
  • Meals at airports and whilst in Kathmandu/ Pokhara - allow $20 per day.
  • Entry Visa fees - at present $25 for 15 day, US$ 40 for 30 day, and US$ 100 for three month visa on entry into Nepal.
  • Insurance which covers, medical, emergency evacuation, lost, theft expenses.
  • Drinks: both alcoholic and bottled other than sterilized drinking water.
  • Laundry fees.
  • All food and beverages other than on the itinerary. 
  • Personal gear and expenses.
  • Tips and gratitude provided to staff.
