Milke Danda trek is located in the far east of Nepal. This is long and high forest ridge that divides the Arun and Tamur valley in the eastern Nepal. We start trek from Basantapur and make a trek of several days up this ridge that offers views of Makalu to the west and Kanchenjunga to the east. Westerners less frequent Milke Danda area, the region are densely vegetated with rare alpine flora and the beautiful rhododendron forest. It is renowned for having the highest diversity of Nepalese Rhododendron species (29 out of 32 species reported from Nepal), With trek follows through small isolated farm villages after the major village town of Tumlingtar and Khandbari, the trail gradually continues towards higher hills, offering impressive view of the mountains all the way to Milke Danda area. Especially Milke Danda is more popular area for different kind of flowers including the Nepal’s national flower rhododendron.

Day 03 - Trek to Chainpur Alt. 1,350m / 4,428ft. (4 1/2 hrs)
Day 04 - Trek to Chitlang Alt. 1,570m / 5,149ft. (4hrs)
Day 05 - Trek to Milke Danda Alt. 1,800m / 5,904ft. (5 1/2 hrs)
Day 06 - Trek to Gupha Pokhari Alt. 2,870m / 9,413ft. (5 1/2 hrs)
Day 07 - Trek to Chauki Alt. 2,660m / 8,724ft. (5 1/2 hrs)
Day 08 - Trek to Basantapur Alt. 2,310m / 7,576ft. (6hrs)
Day 09 - Drive to Biratnagar Alt. 200m / 656ft. (3 1/2 hrs)
Day 10 - Fly back to Kathmandu (45mins)

Cost Includes:

  • International & domestic airport transfers as per the itinerary.
  • Internal transport and flight within Nepal as per the itinerary.
  • 3 meals a day while trekking (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) as indicated by the itinerary.
  • Accommodation while trekking in twin sharing basis tents or local lodges / guesthouses.
  • All trekking and climbing related permit & fees.
  • English speaking, professional guides and porters.

Cost Excludes:

  • International air fare to/ from Nepal.
  • Lunch and dinner prior to the trek, please allow US$ 20 per day.
  • Meals at airports and whilst in Kathmandu/ Pokhara - allow $20 per day.
  • Entry Visa fees - at present $25 for 15 day & US$ 40 for 30 day visa on entry in Nepal.
  • Insurance which covers, medical, emergency evacuation, lost, theft expenses.
  • Drinks; both alcoholic and bottled other than sterilized drinking water.
  • Laundry fee.
  • All the foods and beverages other than the itinerary. 
  • Personal gears and expenses.
  • Tips and gratitude provided to staffs.
