This is the trek on Everest route that takes you to the heart of Everest. After a magnificent mountain flight to Lukla we follow the Dudh Kosi valley to Namche Bazaar. The trail to Tyangboche is a gradual descent to the Dudkosi River then, trek up hill through the fir, pine, juniper, rhododendron and high altitude scrub forest until you reach Tyangboche Monastery compound. Tyangboche Monastery is the biggest monastery in the Everest Region and is surrounded by towering icy peaks. From here, we can see sun set and sun rise over Everest if the weather is clear. While at Tyangboche, look around the monastery in the bushes, you will most likely encounter a musk deer or variety of colorful pheasants.

From here we trek back to Khumjung village to visit the monastery and to see the partial Yeti skeleton. The next day we return to Lukla to fly back to Kathmandu.
